The insurance rgulator IRDAI has reminded the the insurers that they can't deny, including renewals carona specific covers to any customers,
Suresh Mathur, executive director, IRDAI, has written a letter to all insurers, on Monday, in this regard saying that the IRDAI is in receipt of complaints stating that some of the insurance companies are not issuing Corona Kavach and Corona Rakshak Policies.
All insurers, as applicable, are advised to continue offering Corona Kavach and Corona Rakshak Policies and also to renew these policies, said the IRDAI.
In the wake of rising infectionrates due to the second waveof Covid-19 the insurable public require appropriate health insurnace coverageand it is not correct to deny such coverage to the customers in this crucial time.As the pandemic has accentuated the need for health insurance, all insurers are advised to activelypromote prortectionthrough health insurnaceso as to developthe much needed trust and godwill of the general public , said Mathur
