Prime Minister Narendra addresses the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day
Government has plans to increase the number of ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ from 10,000 to 25,000
India will become the third-largest economy in the next few years and will become a developed country by 2047

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed concern over the heavy rainfall that has wreaked havoc in many states.
“…This time, natural calamity has created unimaginable crises in several parts of the country. I express my sympathies to all families who faced this….” PM Modi said.
The prime minister assured that both the Centre and the state will help the affected families during times of crisis so they can start their life again. “I assure you about it”. Heavy rainfall has battered the states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, which saw deaths and destruction a day earlier.
He further said Jan Aushadhi Kendras have given new power to the people, especially the middle class.
“If someone is diagnosed with diabetes, then a monthly bill of Rs 3,000 gets accrued. Through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, the medicines that cost Rs 100, we are giving it at Rs 10 to Rs 15,” he said.
Now the government has plans to increase the number of ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ from 10,000 to 25,000, he said.
“There is no doubt that India will become a developed country by 2047. I base this claim on the capabilities of my young countrymen.We have brought 135 mn individuals out of poverty and to the middle class. World is technology-driven, with its talent in technology India will have new role and impact on global stage:, ”Modi added.
He said there has been an unprecedented surge in India’s exports and noted that India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy due to the efforts of 140 crore citizens.
“Today, we have demography, democracy and diversity – these three together have the ability to realise the dreams of the nation. The trinity of demography, democracy and diversity has the power to realise the dreams of the nation,” he added.
India will become the third-largest economy in the next few years.
“In coming years, India will be in the top three economies. This is Modi’s guarantee,” PM Modi said.
Any decisions taken by the country today and the work done will impact its future for 1000 years.
He said the government has taken several steps to tackle corruption, stop leakages and contain inflation.
“Today, inflation’s impact is felt by everyone, including us. However, India has taken resolute measures to contain and manage inflation,” PM Modi said. “When we came to power in 2014, we were at the 10th position in the global economic system. Today, with the efforts of 140 crore Indians, we have reached the fifth position, This did not happen just like that. The demon of corruption that had the country in its clutches – we stopped leakages and created a strong economy.”
“Our primary goal remains the minimization of inflation, ensuring that the citizens of this great nation can lead prosperous and fulfilling lives,” he added.
He further said India has shown the way to the world to fight climate change.
India has launched “Life Mission” which aims to stop mindless consumption of resources and formed important international coalitions such as International Solar Alliance (ISA) and Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and International Big Cat Alliance.
“The entire world is grappling with climate change. India has shown the way to combat it,” Modi said in his address to the nation from the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day.

On his arrival at the Red Fort, PM Modi was received by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, Raksha Rajya Mantri, Ajay Bhatt, and Defence Secretary, Giridhar Aramane.
