Indeerjit Singh, Secretary General, General Insurance Council

Indeerjit Singh,59,director and general manager, GIC Re, on Tuesday has assumed the charge of secretary general of General Insurance Council(GI Council), the official self regulatory organisation(SRO) of the domestic general re/insurance industry.
Singh, who was supposed to retire in June end, had opted for VRS after getting selected as the SG of the council in January first week and the government had cleared it last week.
Singh, a direct recruit officer 1986 batch of New India Assurance, has been given a three-year tenure with a Rs 45 lakh annual package.
The post of secretary general in the GI Council had fallen vacant after Nagaraja Sarma, completed his three and half year term including a six-month extension till January 2023.
Tapan Sighel, MD & CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance is the current chairman of the council.
