The next round of vacancies of CMDs in the PSU general insurance companies, during the year, will be happening when Suchita Gupta will be calling it a day at National Insurance Company(NIC) in July end and Devesh Srivastava retiring from GIC Re in September

Rashmi Raman Singh,57, general manager and director(GMD), Oriental Insurance Company(OIC) has been selected by the Financial Services Institution Bureau (FSIB), to be the next CMD of the company.
Singh, a direct recruit officer belonging to 1987 batch of OIC, will be retiring in Feb 2025.
It will take a couple of months for Appointments Committee of the Cabinet(ACC) headed by the Prime Minister, to clear Singh’s name for the top post of OIC after due diligence from government agencies.
OIC’s top post will be falling vacant from Feb 1 after Anjan Dey,who had already put in his papers a few days back by opting for availing voluntary retirement scheme(VRS), retires on Jan 31 after serving his three month notice period.
Dey had tenure till November 2023.
Now, the next round of vacancies of CMDs in the PSU general insurance companies during the year will happen when Suchita Gupta will be calling it a day at National Insurance Company(NIC) in August end and Devesh Srivastava retiring from GIC Re in September end.
Today, the FSIB, the government’s head hunting agency for the top posts of state owned bank and insurers, had interviewed five shortlisted senior officials, N Ramaswamy, general manager, GIC Re, Singh, GMD, OIC, M Rajeswari Singh,GMD, United India Insurance, BS Rahul, general manger, Agriculture Insurance Company, Rashmi Bajpai,GM,OIC, to select a CMD of Delhi based OIC.
After FSIB’s selection of the candidate, it will be sent to the department of financial services (DFS) which will start obtaining vigilance clearance or reports regarding ongoing/contemplated inquiry or investigation or proceeding, if any, against the recommended person from various bodies like Central Vigilance Commission(CVC) before seeking approval of Appoint Committee of Cabinet(ACC).
