New Delhi: The government has accepted the resignation of Dinesh Pant, 59, managing director, Life Insurance Corporation(LIC), who has been appointed as the member,Actuary, IRDAI.
Earlier, the Financial Sector Regulatory Appointments Search Committee (FSRASC), headed by Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan, recommended the appointment of Pant as member Actuary at the insurance regulator IRDAI.
Pant, a qualified actuary, has been relieved from LIC with effect from Sept 24 and will take over his new assignment soon.
He had joined LIC in 1989 as a direct recruit officer and has an extensive exposure in most of the operational areas.
