Girija Subramanian, member, Distribution, IRDAI
Except the post of member, Actuary, all other Member positions have now been filled.Dinesh Pant, managing director, Life Insurance Corporation, who has already been selected for the post member, Actuary , is yet to join his new assignment.
Hyderabad:Girija Subramanian, 60, has joined as the member(Distribution), IRDAI on Monday. Subramanian had retired as the CMD of New India Assurance on July 31.
She will have a five -year tenure at the IRDAI.
She had started as a direct recruit officer of the state owned GIC Re in 1988 and has over 38 years of experience in the Indian insurance industry.
The post of member, Distribution, had fallen vacant after Satyajit Tripathy had retired from the IRDAI.
Except the post of member, Actuary, all other Member positions have now been filled.

Headed by chairman Ajay Seth, IRDAI has at present other members Deepak Sood (Non-Life), Rajay Kumar Sinha, Member (Finance & Investments) and Swaminathan S Iyer, Member (Life).
For the first time except the Seth, who is having a three-year tenure, all the members have been given a five year term after Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Act, 2025 (SBSR Act) passed by theIndian Parliament.
