Sarbvir Singh, Joint Group CEO of PB Fintech, said, ” Over the years, we have invested more than ₹3,000 crore in driving awareness around insurance products. We believe Amitabh Bachchan can help make insurance a conversation in every Indian household, encouraging millions more families to protect what matters most.”
New Delhi:With the launch of Bima Sugam, the Indian insurance industry’s digital marketplace, expected in September, Policybazaar, the largest online intermediary, has roped in legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador for a nationwide campaign promoting awareness of Health and Term insurance.
The move comes as the online insurance distribution landscape braces for heightened competition from the commission-free Bima Sugam platform, which will initially offer Motor, Health and Term insurance products.
The campaign assumes significance after IRDAI Chairman Ajay Seth recently announced that Bima Sugam, described as a game-changing e-marketplace for the insurance industry, is slated for launch in September. The platform will initially facilitate online sales of Motor, Health and Term insurance products and is expected to offer policies at lower prices by eliminating distribution commissions.
Policybazaar’s campaign is aimed at encouraging Indian households to prioritise financial protection through insurance. The company said the initiative builds on its 18-year effort to improve insurance awareness and make protection planning a routine family discussion rather than a deferred decision. It forms a key part of Policybazaar’s continued efforts to deepen insurance awareness, expand financial protection and bring millions of first-time buyers into the insurance ecosystem, said company’s statement..
Commenting on the initiative, Sarbvir Singh, Joint Group CEO of PB Fintech, said, “Insurance awareness has always been at the heart of Policybazaar’s mission. Over the years, we have invested more than ₹3,000 crore in driving awareness around insurance products. We believe Amitabh Bachchan can help make insurance a conversation in every Indian household, encouraging millions more families to protect what matters most.”
The integrated campaign will roll out across television, digital platforms, OTT services and social media, reaching audiences across urban and emerging India.
