Lohiya has been appointed as a Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary in the Department. will take over as Secretary, Department of Financial Services. Ministry of Finance after N Nagaraju retires in May end, said an order by Appointments Committee of Cabinet
New Delhi:In a large-scale reshuffle among top level bureacrats, the Centre today has announced that Sanjay Lohiya (IAS: 1994), additional secretary, Ministry of Mines,will take over as the new secretary, Department of Financial Services(DFS) after M Nagaraju,current secretary, DFS,calls it a day on May 31.
“Lohiya has been appointed as a special secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of joint secretary in the department. The officer will take over as Secretary, Department of Financial Services. Ministry of Finance vice Nagaraju Maddirala (IAS, 1993) upon his superannuation on 31.05.2026,” said an order by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet(ACC) on Tuesday.
Nagaraju had assumed charge on August 19, 2024.
The DFS overseas banking, insurance, and pension reforms, focusing on digital initiatives, financial inclusion, and strengthening Public Sector Banks (PSBs).
A few other appointments in the Ministry of Finance are- Sajjan Singh Yadav (IAS: 1996), Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, appointed as Special Secretary, in the same department,Debasish Prusty (IAS:2000), appointed as Additional Secretary, DFS ,
Hari Har Mishra (IDAS: 1998), appointed as Additional Secretary, DFS by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of joint secretary in the department.
