Mumbai: Allianz,has today announced the appointment of Ritu Arora as the country head of India, with immediate effect.
This is for the first time Allianz , planning to set up three re/insurance joint ventures with Jio Financials of Reliance Industries, has appointed a country head in India.
Previously, Ritu served as the CEO & CIO of Allianz Investment Management in Asia Pacific, as well as India Advisor to the Allianz SE Board.
In her new role, Ritu will advance Allianz’s long-term growth ambitions for India.
As CIO of Asia, Ritu oversaw the Investment Management function spanning 12 countries and 21 operating entities, managing one of the region’s largest AUM portfolios of approximately USD 50 billion. She played a key role in channeling significant investments into Indian public markets and diverse private asset classes.

Prior to joining Allianz, Ritu held leadership roles at several leading financial institutions and has been associated with India’s insurance industry since its deregulation in 2003.
She was a founding member of PNB MetLife Insurance and Canara HSBC Insurance companies.
