Anchored on the theme “Staying Ahead, Future Ready”, the 21st edition will bring together global reinsurance leaders to tackle urgent challenges and opportunities in an increasingly volatile world.

Singapore: The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) today announced the full panel line-up and Guest-of-Honor for the 21st Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC), set to take place from 3 to 6 November 2025 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.

Set against the backdrop of intensifying geopolitical, trade and climate-related challenges, this year’s conference will be pivotal to shape the way forward for the industry as it adapts to structural shifts while accelerating innovation and advancing sustainable business strategies.

“As we mark the 21st edition of the Singapore International Reinsurance Conference, we are proud that SIRC has grown into one of the key global meeting points for the reinsurance industry. Each year, it provides a platform to exchange insights, forge meaningful connections, and collectively drive the industry forward,” said Kenrick Law, Chair of the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association.

“This year is no different. Under the theme ‘Staying Ahead, Future Ready’, we want to challenge the sector to be proactive in shaping what lies ahead and chart the path forward in a fast-changing world.”

Distinguished Keynote Speakers

Opening the conference is Guest-of-Honor Mr Chia Der Jiun, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, who will deliver the official keynote address.

Thereafter, he will be followed by Mr Patrick Tiernan, Chief Executive Officer of Lloyd’s of London, who will deliver the opening keynote of this year’s conference. This will be Mr Tiernan’s first major address in Asia since taking over the Chief Executive role in May 2025.

Spotlighting Global Shifts on Day 2 Panels

This year’s conference panel line-up has been intentionally structured to deliver a range of perspectives across the reinsurance value chain, reflecting the complexities of today’s rapidly changing world.

Day 2 will feature opening remarks from Mr Chris Townsend, Member of the Board of Management, Allianz SE, setting the stage for the day’s dynamic discussions on the impact of changing economic patterns on reinsurance and the sector’s critical role in advancing sustainability.

Shifting Tides — Asia Reinsurance in an Era of Geoeconomic Fragmentation

This panel will explore how Asia’s reinsurance industry is adapting to a fractured global economy, where shifting capital flows, inflationary pressures, and systemic risks are reshaping underwriting practices and client strategies.

With a deliberately diverse panel made up of an economist, broker, insurer, and reinsurer, the discussion aims to provide clarity by unpacking macroeconomic forces alongside client-level realities. Attendees can expect actionable insights on what to monitor, when to act, and how to prepare in this uncertain landscape, while also exploring whether today’s risk models still hold in a volatile world.

Featuring: Joan Collar (Marsh McLennan Asia), Robert Kosova (QBE Asia), and Gianfranco Lot (Swiss Re). Moderated by Dr Michael Menhart (Munich Re).

Ahead of the Curve — Sustainable Strategies for Risk, Protection, and Restoration

Sustainability and climate change are no longer peripheral concerns but existential challenges for the reinsurance industry, particularly in the Asia Pacific where protection gaps[1] remain wide. This panel will explore how the sector can move from intention to action by embedding sustainability into underwriting frameworks, developing affordable and scalable risk solutions, and forging cross-sector partnerships.

With perspectives drawn from within and beyond reinsurance, including lessons from financial services and the role of technology and data, the discussion will focus on practical strategies to strengthen climate resilience, support ecological restoration, and unlock opportunities for inclusive growth across the region.

Featuring: Dickson Wong (Global Asia Insurance Partnership), Daniel Fairweather (Howden Group Holdings), Sasa Hu (PartnerRe), and Henri Douche (SCOR), moderated by Jaclyn Dove (Standard Chartered Bank).

Day 3 Panels to Discuss Impact of AI

Mr Andrea Scascighini, Head Casualty Portfolio Analytics and Steering, Property & Casualty Reinsurance, Swiss Re will deliver Day 3’s opening remarks, framing the day’s discussions on AI and its transformative impact on the (re)insurance landscape.

Data Analytics & AI – Shaping the Future of Risk, Resilience, and Reinsurance

Artificial intelligence and data analytics are no longer future buzzwords — they are already here and reshaping the reinsurance value chain from underwriting to claims.

The discussion will address essential steps management can take now to harness these tools — from integrating AI into decision-making and scaling innovation, to ensuring accuracy in pricing and risk assessment. While issues of data quality, bias, and ethics remain important, the panel’s compelling focus will be on real-life business impact examples of how AI can unlock new possibilities for resilience and growth, and what leaders need to do to stay ahead of the curve.

Featuring: Beth Diamond (Beazley), Glen Riddell (Berkley Re Asia Pacific), Dr Vishnu Nanduri (Kyndryl), and Bertrand Romagne (AXA XL Reinsurance), moderated by Dr Fan Yang (Income Insurance Limited).

AI in Action – The Catalyst for a Future-ready Workforce

In the same vein, with artificial intelligence integrated into today’s organizations, it is fast transforming the (re)insurance workforce. Drawing on case studies and success stories, this panel will highlight where AI has made the greatest impact and the lessons learned so far.

Looking ahead, the discussion will also examine emerging AI technologies while spotlighting a future where human expertise and machine intelligence work side by side. With perspectives spanning business, HR, and technology, panelists will discuss how leaders can balance innovation with responsibility, and how continuous learning and upskilling will be key to building adaptive teams that are ready for the next wave of transformation.

Featuring: Philip Weiner (bolttech APAC), Tony Gallagher (Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific), Miguel Rosa (MAPFRE RE), Neetha Nair (Prudential Assurance Company, Singapore), moderated by Alex King (ActuariesOnTap).

Driving Global Insights from Singapore

Held in Asia’s leading reinsurance hub, SIRC promises to deliver actionable insights, thought leadership, and meaningful connections for reinsurance professionals navigating a rapidly evolving global landscape.

“This year’s program reflects our commitment to keeping discussions both globally relevant and regionally grounded, with sustainability and talent at the core,” said Jeslyn Tan, Executive Director of SRA. “We look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to Singapore once again with a platform to gain clarity, drive collaboration and build confidence over the course of our 4-day conference.”
