David Kim, Head of Korea at Miller, added,“We expect to expand into other lines as we capitalise on the potential for close collaboration with our strong foundations in the London marine market.”

London: Miller, an independent specialist (re)insurance broker, announced four senior hires to launch a new Marine team in Korea.

KyungSeop (KS) Shim will join to lead the team as head of specialty.

KS joins from Marsh Korea, where he held senior roles including head of specialty and head of marine. He also brings hands-on industry experience, having run his own shipping business for five years.

As Miller’s new head of specialty, Korea, KS will initially focus on building out Miller’s marine offering in the Korean market.

He is joined at Miller by three additional senior hires who are also joining from Marsh.

Justin Roh joins with over 15 years’ experience in P&I claims and legal affairs at Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), as well as five years in broking at Marsh Korea. At Marsh, he specialised in property and marine insurance across P&I, hull and machinery, terminal, transport and logistics risks.

Hana Jung joins from Marsh Korea, where as vice president she managed a broad portfolio of direct P&I and FD&D business, alongside retail and reinsurance programmes for H&M, War Risks and K&R. Hana also brings client-side experience from legal and insurance roles in shipping and logistics and has cross-border expertise through work and training in London.

Jayce Park brings experience in retail broking and facultative reinsurance placements across P&I, hull and machinery and container risks, most recently at Marsh. She previously handled retail insurance and reinsurance claims and collections across marine, aviation and liability lines.

KS Shim, Head of Specialty, Korea at Miller, commented: “We believe that bringing Miller’s reputation for outstanding client service to this market will create real opportunity, and we’re excited to be building a dedicated team with expertise across both broking and claims.”

David Kim, Head of Korea at Miller, added,“We expect to expand into other lines as we capitalise on the potential for close collaboration with our strong foundations in the London marine market.”

Phil Wheeler, Head of Marine at Miller, said: “Marine has always been a cornerstone of Miller’s expertise, both in London and internationally and we’re pleased to build on that success in Korea. This expansion reflects our commitment to delivering specialist expertise and outstanding service to clients in the region.”
