New Delhi: Seventeen river gauge stations across India are currently above the warning level, with four in severe flood condition where water levels are at or above the danger mark but still below the historical peak, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC).

According to the latest flood bulletin issued on Wednesday, there are no stations currently in an “extreme flood situation”, where the previous highest flood level (HFL) is equalled or exceeded.

An additional 13 stations are witnessing “above normal flood situations”, with water levels surpassing warning levels but remaining below danger thresholds.

These include rivers such as the Brahmaputra, Ganga, Gandak, and Subarnarekha across Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

These sites span Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Reservoirs such as Srisailam and Almatti (Krishna River), Hirakud (Mahanadi), Indira Sagar (Narmada), and Maithon (Barakar) are seeing high inflows.
