Shaktikanta Das, Principal Secretary-2 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi: The government on Saturday has appointed Shaktikanta Das, former Governor, Reserve Bank of India(RBI), as the second Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by Modi, has issued the necessary order for the new appointment of Das, a career civil servant spanning over 42 years.
“Das, IAS(Retired), will be the Principal Secretary-2 to the PM with effect from the date he assumes office. His office will be co-terminus with the term of PM,’’ said the ACC order.
PK Mishra, a retired IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, continues to be the Principal Secretary to Modi.
Earlier, Das had ended his six-year stint as RBI governor on Jan 10 and was succeeded by Sanjay Malhotra.
