Mumbai: Industry veteran Dr S Prakash, former CEO, Star Health Insurance and one of the members of founding team of newly set up Galaxy Health Insurance, has joined Bajaj General Insurance as a consultant.
Prakash had recently quit Galaxy Health Insurance, a joint venture between family of V Jagannathan and TVS Group, after it got a license from the insurance regulator IRDAI.

Prakash, during his stint as the CEO of Star Health Insurance and as a member of executive council of General Insurance Council, the official representative body of all domestic general insurers, was instrumental in launching a few initiatives in modernising the Indian health insurance sector, currently the largest segment in the general insurance industry.
Bajaj Finserv, the holding company of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, is developing a strong focus on the expanding healthcare sector and is roping in experienced hands to implement its plans.
Recently, N Srinivasa Rao, a former joint secretary of Department of Financial Services(DFS), had Bajaj Finserv as its chief economist and president of corporate affairs while Tarun Bajaj, former revenue secretary had joined the company as an independent director.
Dr. Prakash is Genius Insurance Star and Galaxy is now moving through Bajaj. Bajaj will gave good time in their Insurance space.
