SC reconstitutes Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee

The GSICC is tasked with addressing issues related to gender sensitivity within the judiciary. Its functions include the evaluation of complaints and the implementation of policies designed to ensure a safe and respectful working environment for all court employees, regardless regardless of gender

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has reconstituted its Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee(GSICC). The 11-member committee is headed by top court judge Justice B V Nagarathna, who is the chairperson.

The panel comprises Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh and Sujata Singh, who is OSD (Registrar), and senior advocates Menaka Guruswamy, Liz Mathew and Bansuri Swaraj.

Advocates Nina Gupta, Soumyajit Pani and Sakshi Banga are also part of the panel besides Madhu Chauhan, who is representative of the Supreme Court Bar Clerks’ Association and Dr. Leni Chaudhuri, executive Director, University of Chicago Centre in India Pvt. Ltd and nominated by the Chief Justice of India.
