Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has appointed Brendan McDonald as Head of Underwriting for Asia with effective from 1st August.,Based in the Hong Kong, Generali’s regional headquarters,Brendan is responsible for driving growth and underwriting excellence across Asia. .

He will  report to the Head of GC&C Asia, Axel Roesner.

Commenting on the appointment, Axel Roesner, Head GC&C Asia said, “This appointment reflects our dedication to further accelerate profitable growth in the Asian market and to provide high-quality underwriting expertise to clients and brokers. I am sure that Brendan will strongly contribute to the execution of our strategy and daily efforts in being our customers’ lifetime partner by adding value beyond the policy and helping their business succeed.”

Brendan joined Generali in 2018 as Head of Financial Lines Underwriting for GC&C Asia.

Peak Re

Peak Reinsurance Company (“Peak Re”), a global reinsurer based in Hong Kong, announced the appointment of . Matteo Cussigh as Senior Vice President of Markets. Serving the reinsurance industry for two decades,

Cussigh has extensive experience in both traditional reinsurance and alternative risk tools with broking and reinsurance companies.

Prior to joining Peak Re,. Cussigh spent ten years with NewRe, where he last served as Head of Origination & Analytics, Capital Partners. In earlier years, Mr. Cussigh worked for Aon and Swiss Re.

James Nash appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer, AIG Japan
American International Group,  has announced that James Nash has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, AIG Japan Holdings KK. Nash will report to Jon Hancock,CEO of International General Insurance and will be based in Tokyo.

He is expected to join the company by early 2021.In this role,

Nash will oversee AIG’s operations and subsidiary companies in Japan, which comprise the largest foreign general insurance company in the country. Nash succeeds Robert L. Noddin, who will assume the role of non-executive Chairman, AIG Japan, until his retirement in 2021.

Mr. Hancock said . “James's deep industry expertise in Japan and decades of experience growing profitable businesses across international markets will be a tremendous asset as we continue to innovate and deliver enhanced value to our clients and partners.”

Nash joins AIG from Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently CEO of the International Division with responsibility for Asia Pacific, EMEA and Latin America.

Nash joined Guy Carpenter in 1985 and has nearly 35 years’ experience in the industry, including 15 years in leadership roles in Japan. In 2008, he assumed the role of CEO, Asia Pacific, serving on the firm’s Global Executive Committee.
