Japan’s space agency was hit by multiple cyberattacks, no sensitive data was taken

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi confirmed the attacks, stating that JAXA has been investigating the extent of the breaches, ensuring no classified data was compromised

Tokyo:Japan’s space agency, JAXA, has faced numerous cyberattacks since the previous year.

However, officials confirmed on Friday that sensitive information concerning rockets and satellites remained unaffected.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi confirmed the attacks, stating that JAXA has been investigating the extent of the breaches, ensuring no classified data was compromised.

Japan is keen on strengthening its cybersecurity in light of expanding military capabilities, with efforts closely monitored by defense and education ministers.

Collaborations with governmental cybersecurity teams are underway to enhance protective measures.
