Govt entrusts NIA’s financial and administrative powers to both of its EDs

The government has made some temporary arrangements to manage the day to day functioning of New India Assurance after Neerja Kapur retired as CMD of the company in Apr end. The ministry of finance on Monday has entrusted the financial, administrative powers and functions of the company to both of its executive directors- Francis Titus and Smita Srivastava till the appointment of a regular CMD. Girija Subramanaian, CMD, Agriculture Insurance Company, has already been selected by the FSIB as the new CMD of NIA and the appointment is yet be notified by the government.
