The government has shortlisted four senior officials from the Indian insurance industry for selecting Member, Distribution at the IRDAI after completing the interviews.
Out of over three dozen applicants, who had applied for the job, the Ministry of Finance, has shortlisted the names of Satyajit Tripathy, CMD, United India Insurance, Randip Singh Jagpal, executive director, IRDAI, LK Shyamsunder, zonal manager, South Central Zone, Life Insurance Corporation and Debasis Das, general manager, National Insurance Company , for conducting the interviews.
Tripathy will be retiring as CMD of UII this month end after completing his 30-month tenure at the company.
The date of the interview for selecting a new Member, Distribution is Mar 4.
The Financial Sector Regulatory Appointment Search Committee (FSRASC), headed by cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba, will be interviewing the four candidates.
The post of Member, Distribution, IRDAI, will fall vacant shortly, as SN Rajeswari will be retiring on March 4 after completing her three- year tenure at the regulatory body. The government had already advertised for the post in September 2023.
Meanwhile, the government has advertised for the post of Member, Non-life, at the IRDAI. The post will fall vacant after incumbent Thomas M Devasia retires on July 12, 2024, after completing his 22-month tenure at the IRDAI.
Among other eligible criteria, the applicant should preferably have at least 25 years’ experience in the area of Insurance (including general and health insurance), with a minimum of three years’ experience at a senior level, not below the rank of a chief general manager of the
Reserve Bank of India or equivalent thereto in other regulatory bodies or financial institutions/insurance companies, said the government.
The last date for receipt of applications is March 25,2024.
Earlier, PK Arora had got two-year extension as Member, Actuary and Rajay Kuma Sinha had joined as a new Member, Finance at the IRDAI after quitting his job at State Bank of India.
Younger personnel from Civil services may be selected.
