Markel, the insurance operations within the Markel Group Inc,. has appointed Kevin Leung as chief underwriting officer for its Asia Pacific (APAC) operations.
Most recently, he was head of casualty and financial lines for APAC at Swiss Re, where he held various leadership roles. Prior to that, Leung held senior underwriting positions at several insurance carriers including Catlin, ACE Group and AIG.
He will report to Christian Stobbs, managing director of Markel’s International division in Asia Pacific, and will be based in Singapore.
In his new role, Leung will lead the underwriting strategy for the region to generate profitable growth, enhance technical capabilities and help to strengthen Markel’s presence and continued growth in the region.
