The insurance regulator IRDAI has once again extended the time frame to sell short-term exclusive Carona policies by the insurers to September, 2022.
The IRDA, which had asked insurers to offer standard corona specific health cover polices from July 2020, has issued necessary order for extending its permission to enable the insurers to continue selling Carona policies on Monday.
“In partial modification of order dated 13th September, 2021, all insurers- life, general and stand alone health insurers- are permitted to offer and renew short term Covid specific health policies up to Sept, 2022.’ said the IRDAI.
Accordingly, Corona Kavach Policies and Rakshak Policies offered as per IRDA’sguidelines dated June 26 are permitted to be offered and renewed by all insurers up to September, 2022, saidthe IRDAI.
“All other terms and conditions remain valid valid as specified under respective guidelines.
While Corona Kavach is a standard indemnity based health policy, Corona Rakshak is a standard benefit based health policy.
