Simgapore:

Specialist insurer Beazley has enhanced its healthcare offering in Asia Pacific with the launch of its miscellaneous medical liability product.

The launch was announced at a webinar today.

Beazley’s growing healthcare practice includes clinical research organizations, tissue and blood banks, clinical laboratories, medical staffing agencies and other healthcare-related organizations.

Today’s launch follows the successful introduction of the life sciences product in Asia Pacific in 2021 and Virtual Care in 2020.

Evan Smith, Global Head of Miscellaneous Medical & Life Sciences at Beazley, commented: “With extensive experience in miscellaneous medical liability insurance across the globe, we are thrilled to be launching this product to the Asia Pacific market. Through the introduction of this product we will now be able to offer protection against medical professional liability exposures arising out of a wide range of healthcare related businesses – including hard to place risks – across the region.”

The product includes cover for medical malpractice (claims made), professional indemnity (claims made), public liability (claims made and occurrence) and product liability (claims made).

Prashansa Daga, Miscellaneous Medical & Life Sciences underwriter at Beazley, commented: “Covid has disrupted most industries, and miscellaneous medical risks such as staffing, laboratories and ambulances are no exception. This has led to a shift in the healthcare paradigm in the region, meaning there are new business models which need comprehensive solutions. We have listened to brokers and clients, and expanded our healthcare offering to provide a suite of products that will offer this comprehensive solution for businesses in the region.”
