Even as Hyderabad based the insurance regulator IRDAI is waiting for a chairman to be appointed by the central government, it has effected an important reshuffle among its senior officials mostly among chief general mangers(CGMs) and general mangers(GMs).
Headed by chairman, IRDA has provisions for five whole-time members followed by executive directors and departmental heads- chief general mangers and general mangers.
Randip Singh Jagpal, who has been a CGM in one of the most important portfolio- Department of Intermediaries, for many years ,has been shifted to Consumer Affairs Department.
AR Nithiyananthan, CGM who was in charge Information Technology(IT) at the IRDA, will now be heading the Department of Intermediaries.
SN Jayasimhan, GM, who has been dealing with the Investment Department, for the last two decades, has been moved to IT Department.
Jayasimhan is currently fighting a case against the IRDA in Andhra Pradesh High Court for being denied his promotion as a CGM.
Yagna Priya Bharat, CGM, who is heading Non-life Department along with Communication Wing and Economic Policy and Research (EPAR) as additional charges in the IRDA, will be now be managing only Non-Life Department along with EPAR as an additional charge.
PK Maiti, GM, Enforcement, has been posted at Sectoral Development Department(SDD).
TS Naik, GM, Consumer Affairs Department, is now be in charge of Communication Wing of the IRDAI.
DVS Ramesh, GM, Health, will be now mainly handle IRDA’s Legal department with Health portfolio as an additional charge,
A Ramana Rao, GM, Finance and Accounts(Life) has been posted at the Department of Finance and Accounts(F&A) (Life).
RK Sharma,GM, F&A,(Non-life) will now be the new administrator of defunct Sahara Life.
Sudipta Bhattacharya,GM, Actuarial Department has been placed at F&A(Life) department.
IRDAI which had three EDs earlier, has now only one ED- Suresh Mathur- who is currently on a deputation as a director to Hyderabad based Indian Institute Risk Management(IIRM)
