Emma Huntington, CEO of Admiral Pioneer, said,“We’re partnering with Octopus to bring real innovation to EV salary sacrifice, moving beyond traditional fleet pricing to offer insurance based on individual risk. By combining our deep insurance expertise with Octopus’s digital-first approach, we’re delivering smarter, fairer, and more personalised insurance for electric drivers. This partnership shows what’s possible when forward-thinking brands come together.”

London:‍ Root Platform (Root), the API-first core platform for delegated authority business, announced its collaboration with Admiral Pioneer and Octopus Electric Vehicles (Octopus EV),Octopus Electric Vehicles (‘Octopus EV’), the UK’s largest EV-only leasing business, the UK’s largest EV-only leasing business, to deliver seamless, in-context motor insurance at the point of sale for employees accessing electric vehicles through salary sacrifice schemes.

This next level integration enables Admiral Pioneer, part of Admiral Group, to offer tailored motor insurance directly within the Octopus EV leasing journey, powered by Root’s core insurance platform.

For the first time, Octopus EV customers can receive personalised insurance quotes instantly, without ever leaving the Octopus digital experience.

Octopus EV’s salary sacrifice scheme allows employees to lease electric vehicles tax-efficiently through their employer. Insurance is included as part of this benefit, making the total cost of ownership highly attractive.

Historically, insurance within such schemes was handled through fleet policies, applying broad averages to all drivers. Admiral Pioneer’s approach – enabled by Root’s technology will deliver personalised pricing based on individual driving profiles, vehicle choice, location, and usage, resulting in fairer premiums and more transparency.
