The board of Swiss Re, the second largest international reinsurer will nominate Vanessa Lau and Pia Tischhauser for election as new members of the Board at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of shareholders (AGM) on 12 April 2023.
Current Board members Renato Fassbind and Susan L. Wagner will not stand for re-election.
Vanessa Lau is the Group Chief Financial Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). Before joining HKEX in 2015, she worked as a Vice President & Senior Research Analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein starting in 2011.
Pia Tischhauser served on the Executive Committee of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an elected member from 2016 to end 2021. From 2015 to 2021, she was also the global leader of BCG’s insurance practice, tripling its client footprint with leading global and mid-sized insurers during her tenure.

Renato Fassbind will not stand for re-election at the upcoming AGM. Mr Fassbind is the Vice Chairman and Lead Independent Director of the Board.
After 9-years of service on Swiss Re’s Board of Directors, Susan L. Wagner will not stand for re-election at the upcoming AGM. Ms Wagner chairs the Investment Committee, is a member of the Governance and Nomination Committee and was a member of the Finance and Risk Committee for many years.
