Heavy rains in Delhi as Monsoon breaks 46-year record; Airport forecourt, key roads waterlogged

The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said the waterlogging at the forecourt was “for a short period” and operations have been back to normal since 9 AM.

Sources said four domestic flights — two of SpiceJet and one each of IndiGo and Go First — were diverted to Jaipur. One international flight — Emirates flight from Dubai to Delhi — was diverted to Ahmedabad, the sources mentioned.

They also said that three IndiGo flights that were scheduled to depart from Delhi were cancelled due to bad weather.

UK’s Sunak wants insurers to explore products for social care costs

Social care refers to long-term health care outside hospitals.Sunak has asked officials to work with insurers to consider “new products” that can help with social care costs, the treasury source said.

“We’re hopeful that in time the cap on costs will provide the clarity insurers need to create new products,” the source said.

Govt launches drive to on-board 8.68 lakh street vendors for digital payments

”The special drive aims to accelerate on-boarding of street vendors on the UPI QR code and handhold them to start accepting and making digital payment transactions. Five major aggregators including Paytm, Phone Pe, Bharat Pe, Mswipe and Aceware have agreed to participate in 45-day special drive for digitally onboarding the street vendors with BHIM-UPI QR code on pro-bono basis,” Ministry of Electronics and IT said in a statement.
