British companies to pay 20-30% of furloughed employees’ wages

in what may come as a major relief to businesses, the Indian government has withdrawn its order directing employers to pay wages to workers, even with units remaining shut during lockdown.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had issued a fresh set of guidelines repealing the order dated March 29, 2020 which had talked about compulsory wage payment to workers during lockdown.

No evidence to show COVID-19 spreads through corpses HC

The bench added the corporation and other authorities concerned shall have to follow the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India and the World Health Organisation (WHO) for safe disposal of bodies infected with COVID-19.There is no scientific data to show that COVID-19 can spread through a dead body, the bench said while dismissing the petitions.

French court orders AXA to pay restaurant’s COVID-19 Business Interruption Losses;AXA to appeal

The court said that the administrative decision to close the restaurant qualified for insurance cover as a business interruption loss.

“This means that all companies with the same clause can appeal to their insurers,” Anais Sauvagnac, lawyer of Stephane Manigold, who owns four restaurants in Paris, said.
