Mumbai: Amit Bhandari, from Magma General Insurance has been appointed as MD and CEO of Mumabi based Universal Sompo General Insurance.for a three-year term, effective February 1, 2027.
He is currenely chief technical and opeartions officer with Magma General Insurance.
He gas got over 25 years of experience.
The company’s board approved Bhandari’s appointment as an Additional Director (Executive) at its meeting on October 30, 2026, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
His appointment as MD & CEO remains subject to approvals from shareholders, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), and other applicable statutory and regulatory authorities.
