“Through this portal, market participants can directly access the latest cybersecurity circulars, vulnerability warnings and incident insights,” SEBI said
Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Monday launched the Cyber Suraksha Portal, a centralised platform that will provide securities market participants access to cybersecurity-related information, including vulnerability warnings and cyber incident insights. History
The portal has been launched as part of SEBI’s Cyber Security Initiative and will serve as a central hub for sharing cybersecurity-related information and knowledge across the securities market.
“Through this portal, market participants can directly access the latest cybersecurity circulars, vulnerability warnings and incident insights,” SEBI said in a press release.
The launch comes as regulators and the government step up efforts to strengthen cyber resilience amid an increase in cybersecurity incidents in the country.
According to data reported to and tracked by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the number of cybersecurity incidents in India increased to 29.44 lakh in 2025 from 20.41 lakh in 2024. In 2023, about 15.93 lakh incidents were reported and tracked.
CERT-In, the national agency for responding to cybersecurity incidents, issued 1,530 alerts, 390 vulnerability notes and 65 advisories during 2025, according to government data.
SEBI has also been strengthening cybersecurity requirements for entities regulated by it.
In August 2024, the market regulator introduced the Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework (CSCRF) for SEBI-regulated entities to strengthen their ability to prevent, prepare for and respond to cyber risks and incidents.
The framework is built around five cyber-resilience goals – anticipate, withstand, contain, recover and evolve – and covers areas ranging from governance and operational controls to incident response and recovery.
SEBI subsequently issued clarifications and implementation-related guidance for regulated entities under the framework.
The newly launched Cyber Suraksha Portal will now provide market participants with a single platform to access SEBI’s cybersecurity circulars as well as information on vulnerabilities and cyber incidents.
