Gandhinagar:Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Civil Aaviation Minister, said on Friday that the investigation into the Air India Boeing Dreamliner crash that killed 260 people last year is in the “last stage”.
The final report into the crash will “mostly” be released in one month, minister Ram Mohan Naidu told reporters on the sidelines of an event in the western Indian city of Gandhinagar.
Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025, killing 260 people, including 241 onboard.
“As per the information we have received, the investigation is in its final stages. However, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is conducting the probe independently, and we have provided them with all the resources they require. We expect the process may take around another month,” Naidu explained.
“It has been almost a year, and the investigation is still being carried out very thoroughly. “The investigation has to be conducted with utmost seriousness, fairness, and transparency, and that is exactly the process being followed right now. From our side, we are trying to complete it as quickly as possible, but we cannot compromise or interrupt the due process for the sake of speed,” Naidu stressed.
