Joshi, who has already been selected as the CMD of GIC Re by the Government’s head hunting body FSIB, has been holding the additional charge of the GIC Re’s top post since Oct 1.
Mumbai:Further delaying the appointment of Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi, executive director, GIC Re, as the new CMD of the company, the government has extended his term as the acting CMD of GIC Re, for another(third time) period of three months since April 1,2026 till the assumption of charge of the post by the regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
Joshi, who has already been selected as the CMD of GIC Re by the Government’s head hunting body FSIB, has been holding the additional charge of the GIC Re’s top post since Oct 1.
“The Ministry of Finance has approved extension of additional charge of the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) to Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi,ED, GIC Re, for a period of three months with effect from 1st April 2026 or till the assumption of charge of the post by the regular incumbent, or until further orders,whichever is the earliest,,’ said GIC Re in its communication to the BSE.
For selecting the new CMD of GIC Re, the FSIB had conducted the interview of five candidates on Feb 24 .
