New Delhi: In a key level change in the central government, Parshant K Goyal, joint secretary(JS), Insurance Department of Financial Services (DFS) has been repatriated prematurely to his parent cadre –Tripura on Wednesday.
He had earlier served as a government’s nominee director on the board of LIC, New India Assurance and as a part-time member of IRDAI.
Goyal, a 2007-batch IAS officer, was appointed as director in the DFS around May 2022. and was subsequently elevated as JS in the same departrment.
He was involved in key decisions within the financial sector, including in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana framework.

On Thursday, the government cleared the empanelment of 24 IAS officers of 2010 batch from various cadres as joint secretaries out of which someone may be posted as a JS, Insurance soon,said sources.
Shalini Pandit (IAS, 2001 Odisha cadre), JS in the DFS, currently serves on the board of LIC as a government nominee director and as a part-time member of IRDAI.
