Lloyd’s also diversifying its India exposure by venturing into the GIFT-IFSC, India’s sole Internationbal Financial Services Centre.
Mumbai:Uk based Lloyd’s market has seen leadership changes in its India operations.
It has promoted its Shefali Sehwani, who was earlier a chief financial officer in its India office, as the new country manager and CEO.
Sehwani has succeeded Shankar Gargipathy, who was Lloyd’s India CEO since 2017 after it set up its operation in the country.
A Lloyd’s spokesperson said: “We are pleased to announce Shefali Sehwani’s appointment as Country Manager and CEO of Lloyd’s India. Shefali joined Lloyd’s India as chief financial officer (CFO) in 2018, and has consistently demonstrated her leadership abilities and significant finance, tax and risk management expertise.”
Sehwani, a charted accoutant, had earlier woked with ICICI Lombard General Insurance.
Lloyd’s also has appointed Manish Bhandari as the new CFO for its operations sinece November 20, 2025. Manish comes with wealth of experience in finance reporting, treasury, and tax, previously working at SCOR SE, Willis and ICICI Lombard.

It has already applied for a license to establish its operations in the GIFT-IFSC. After getting a license its Syndicates can start operating from the GIFT-IFSC.
