Cost of Norsk Hydro Cyber attack higher than expected at nearly $75 million

The attack is now estimated to have cost 250-300 million crowns [$28.9 million-$34.6 million] in the second quarter, compared with an earlier estimate of 200-250 million crowns [$23.1 million-$28.9 million]. According to the report, there were an estimated 163 natural disaster events in 1H 2019, which was below the 18- average of 180 and the median of 182. Equifax’s $700 million data breach settlement includes $300 million for consumers

Under the settlement, the company will establish a $300 million restitution fund for harmed consumers that could climb to $425 million depending on its use. Consumers eligible for the fund must submit claims showing they were fraud victims or set up credit-monitoring services following the breach

Google to pay $11 million to settle age bias employment claims

The case was brought by a woman who claimed she was interviewed by Google four times over seven years and was never offered employment despite her “highly pertinent qualifications and programming experience” because of her age. IRCTC, which is a wholly owned undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, has entered into an agreement with three private insurance companies through limited tender – Shriram General Insurance Company Ltd, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd and Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company Ltd for its Optional Travel Insurance Scheme which was launched in September 2016 with a premium of Rs 0.92 per passenger.
