The health ministry of Brazil, which is about two-thirds more populous than Mexico, had reported 189 deaths of medical practitioners by end-July. Some private data in Brazil give higher figures, but still well below Mexico.

Delhi launches Electric Vehicle Policy,Mahindra seeks investors for EV business
Under the policy, the Delhi government will give incentive of up to Rs 30,000 for two-wheelers, autos and e-rickshaws while for cars, it will give incentive of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said.
“After launching this policy, we expect 500,000 new electric vehicle in next five years… The Delhi government will set up dedicated ‘EV Cell’ to implement ‘electric vehicle policy,” Kejriwal said.
Meanwhile,Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is looking for investment partners for its domestic electric vehicles business and is finalising investment plans for its Automobili Pininfarina unit, the group’s managing director said on Friday.
Over 56,000 COVID-19 cases in country in single day
There are 5,95,501 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country presently which contribute to 30.31 per cent of the total cases.
The fatality rate has further dropped to 2.07 per cent, the data stated.
This is the eighth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases have increased by more than 50,000.
Of the 904 fresh deaths reported, 334 are from Maharashtra, 112 from Tamil Nadu, 100 from Karnataka, 77 from Andhra Pradesh, 61 from West Bengal, 40 from Uttar Pradesh, 29 from Punjab, 23 from Gujarat, 17 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 each from Rajasthan and Telangana, 11 from Delhi and Nine each from Jammu and Kashmir and Odisha.
