E-pharmacies await govt regulations for the sector

Another media report suggets, the government has issued an order to stop sale of online medicines till the draft rules for regulation of e-Pharmacies are finalised and come into force. The order issued on 28 November, 2019 by V G Somani, Drug Controller General (India), has directed all states and union territories to prohibit sale of medicines through online platforms without licenses with immediate effect.

IndiGo asks pilots to stop pushing Airbus engines to limit after shutdowns

All the budget airline’s A320neo aircraft now use a lower thrust setting following take off, according to a spokeswoman from IndiGo, which has suffered 13 engine shutdowns during ascents this year. The decision was taken “in order to make every possible effort to minimize exposure of engines,” she wrote in an email, adding that manufacturer Pratt & Whitney stated there’s no evidence of a connection between climbing procedure and engine incidents.

Younger millennials and Gen Z fuelling Indian credit card business

Business is booming at the country’s second-largest card issuer. After Carlyle arrived in 2017 to replace GE Capital in the two-decade-old venture, earnings were 7.4 rupees a share in the year through March 2018. The most recent six-monthly profit topped that figure. Younger millennials and Generation Z — those born after 2000 — are driving this growth. In India’s fiscal year ended in March 2016, barely 2 per cent of credit card transactions were originated by people below 25 years of age. That number has jumped to 10 per cent. Add the 26-30 age group, and the youth share of plastic is 35 per cent, beating people over 40 by as much as eight percentage points.
