According to the depositories data, overseas investors pumped in a net Rs 5,245 crore into equities and withdrew Rs 4,159 crore from the debt market during October 1-9.
This translated into a total net inflow of Rs 1,086 crore.
In September, FPIs were net sellers at Rs 3,419 crore.
“Better than expected Q2 (earnings) performance, rising GST collection and a general opening up of the economy are helping India in becoming an attractive investment destination,” Harsh Jain, co-founder and COO at Groww, said.

A digital, or virtual, euro would be an electronic version of euro notes and coins, it would be legal tender and guaranteed by the European Central Bank.
It would also for the first time allow individuals to have deposits directly with the ECB. This could be safer than with commercial banks, which could go bust, or than holding cash that could be stolen or lost.
And like cash, money could be stored outside of the banking system, such as in a “digital wallet”.

CSIRO researchers found that at 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) the SARS-COV-2 virus remained infectious for 28 days on smooth surfaces such as plastic banknotes and glass found on mobile phone screens. The study was published in Virology Journal.
“It really reinforces the importance of washing hands and sanitising where possible and certainly wiping down surfaces that may be in contact with the virus,” said the study’s lead researcher Shane Riddell.
By comparison, Influenza A virus has been found to survive on surfaces for 17 days.

India reports 73,272 new coronavirus cases, 926 fresh fatalities
For the second day in a row, the number of active COVID-19 cases remained below 9 lakh.
There are 8,83,185 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which make 12.65 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
The COVID-19 case fatality rate was recorded at 1.54 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative 8,57,98,698 samples have been tested up to October 9. As many as 11,64,018 samples were tested on Friday.
U.S., AstraZeneca strike deal for COVID-19 antibody treatment touted by Trump
