Lemonade’s 2020 giveback hits new high, Backing 34 nonprofits chosen by customers

The Lemonade Giveback is part of the company’s socially-impactful business model, in which a portion of underwriting profits go to nonprofits of customers’ choosing. As the Lemonade community grows, so does the potential of the Giveback, and this year’s donation is more than 20x the first one in 2017.

AI Express plane overshoots runway at Kozhikode airport,broken into 2 pieces,17 dead

.There were 191 passengers, including crew members on board the flight and both the pilots along with 15 other persons have died and100 passengers have been injured.
Mumbai based state owned New India Assurance(NIA) is the primary insurer of Air India and the total cover for the airlines is heavily reinsured, upto almost 95 per cent, in the London market.

“There will be major hull claims as the aircraft is completely damaged. There will be also claims on account of the death of two pilots and and other passengers ,” said insurnace industry sources.

Seventeen people were killed and scores injured when the AIEflight from Dubai with 190 on board overshot the table toprunway while landing in heavy rains and fell into a valley 35 feet below and broke into two portions on Friday night.

The pilot-in-command Captain Deepak Sathe and his co- pilot Akhilesh Kumar were among those who lost their lives.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said authorities managed to rescue most of the passengers because the plane did not catch fire while descending the slope at the end of the table-top runway. Such runways are located at an altitude and have steep drops at one or both ends.

Delhi launches Electric Vehicle Policy,Mahindra seeks investors for EV business

Under the policy, the Delhi government will give incentive of up to Rs 30,000 for two-wheelers, autos and e-rickshaws while for cars, it will give incentive of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said.

“After launching this policy, we expect 500,000 new electric vehicle in next five years… The Delhi government will set up dedicated ‘EV Cell’ to implement ‘electric vehicle policy,” Kejriwal said.
Meanwhile,Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is looking for investment partners for its domestic electric vehicles business and is finalising investment plans for its Automobili Pininfarina unit, the group’s managing director said on Friday.

The prospect, if he / she wishes to consent to the proposal, may do so by clicking the confirmation link or by validating the OTP shared. The insurer has to  maintain verifiable, legally valid evidence for the proposer’s consent received for the fully completed proposal form. Further, the insurer can’t  accept any payment of moneys towards proposal deposit till the receipt of consent of the proposer.

Robots running the industrial world are open to cyber attacks

Robots are often connected to networks and run via software, according to the report, and previously unknown vulnerabilities could allow hackers to hide malicious code in them and other automated, programmable manufacturing machines.

The researcher found flaws in software produced and distributed by the Swedish-Swiss multinational ABB Ltd, one among world’s largest industrial robot maker. They also found other vulnerabilities in one of industry’s most popular open-source software called “Robot Operating System Industrial”, or Ros-I, adapted for ABB and for Kuka AG, a German robot maker.

Virgin seeks to revive supersonic commercial flight — but faster

The aircraft’s draft design showed a plane with a triangular “delta wing” carrying between nine and 19 passengers at an altitude of more than 60,000 feet, or 18,000 meters — about twice as high as normal commercial flight.

The plane would take off and land at existing airport runways.

Virgin Galactic said its team would “work to address key challenges in thermal management, maintenance, noise, emissions, and economics that routine high speed commercial flights would entail.”
