Boeing Dreamliner plant ‘plagued by shoddy production,’ says NYT

John Barnett, a former quality manager who retired in 2017 after almost three decades at Boeing, said he found clusters of metal slivers hanging over the wiring that commands flight controls. A U.S. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman, Lynn Lunsford, said the agency inspected several planes that Boeing had certified as free of such debris and found the same metal slivers.

Plaintiff Robert Blinkinsop was diagnosed in July 2017 with mesothelioma, a rare cancer of the lining of the lung generally caused by asbestos exposure. Blinkinsop used Johnson’s baby powder daily for personal hygiene from 1977 to 1994 and on his children from 1992 to 1996, his attorney, Mark Bratt, said at trial. 3 major automakers partner to develop autonomous vehicle safety standards, testing

General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. said in a statement they are joining forces with automotive engineering group SAE International to establish autonomous vehicle “safety guiding principles to help inform standards development.”The group will also “work to safely advance testing, pre-competitive development and deployment,” they added.
