Biden’s vaccine rules to set off barrage of legal challenges

The White House is gearing up for legal challenges and believes that even if some of the mandates are tossed out, millions of Americans will get a shot because of the new requirements — saving lives and preventing the spread of the virus.

U.S. Treasury climate official seeks insurance changes for extreme weather

The Federal Insurance Office will accept input for 75 days and then come up with recommendations for better pricing the risks that climate change posed to insured properties and activities, John Morton, Climate counselor, U.S. Treasury

said.

“The question is, how do we … better understand and begin to price the risk inherent in the underlying activities,” he said.

Heavy rains in Delhi as Monsoon breaks 46-year record; Airport forecourt, key roads waterlogged

The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said the waterlogging at the forecourt was “for a short period” and operations have been back to normal since 9 AM.

Sources said four domestic flights — two of SpiceJet and one each of IndiGo and Go First — were diverted to Jaipur. One international flight — Emirates flight from Dubai to Delhi — was diverted to Ahmedabad, the sources mentioned.

They also said that three IndiGo flights that were scheduled to depart from Delhi were cancelled due to bad weather.

UK’s Sunak wants insurers to explore products for social care costs

Social care refers to long-term health care outside hospitals.Sunak has asked officials to work with insurers to consider “new products” that can help with social care costs, the treasury source said.

“We’re hopeful that in time the cap on costs will provide the clarity insurers need to create new products,” the source said.
