Rural India achieved 100 pc ODF status: Govt

“As a result, the sanitation coverage in the country, which was 38.7 per cent as on October 2, 2014 has increased to 100 per cent and all the 5,99,963 villages of the country have declared themselves ODF,” Minister of State in the Jal Shakti Ministry Rattan Lal Kataria said in a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

LIC removes convenience fee on credit card payments

Henceforth, all digital collections will be free of charges for customers. With this initiative, LIC’s valued policyholders can transact online seamlessly, free of charges. This facility of free transactions using credit card shall be applicable to and implemented across all collecting systems (Card less payment and card dip / swipe on Point of Sale machines).

E-pharmacies await govt regulations for the sector

Another media report suggets, the government has issued an order to stop sale of online medicines till the draft rules for regulation of e-Pharmacies are finalised and come into force. The order issued on 28 November, 2019 by V G Somani, Drug Controller General (India), has directed all states and union territories to prohibit sale of medicines through online platforms without licenses with immediate effect.
