BioNTech owners in talks to invest in German cancer labs group

The billionaire Struengmann family behind Covid-19 vaccine maker BioNTech is in talks to take a stake in German diagnostics firm Munich Leukemia Laboratory (MLL) as it seeks to add investments in the healthcare sector, people close to the matter said.

“We are fundamentally interested in a deeper integration of therapy and diagnostics. That is why we are holding talks with Munich Leukemia Laboratory,” a spokesman for the Struengmann family holding Athos said.

No deaths reported, reduced severity: RML director on people contracting Covid after second vaccine dose

“So this is the kind of benefit which this vaccine is giving. We have not seen that those who got vaccinated and contracted the disease died. It doesn’t take a severe form in those who got vaccinated. Study reveals increased rates of organ damage after discharge from hospital with Covid-19

Although Covid-19 is most well known for causing serious respiratory problems, it can affect other organs and systems within the body, including the heart, kidneys, and liver.

Several unexplained symptoms that continue for more than 12 weeks after Covid-19 are said to be part of a post-Covid syndrome (also known as “long Covid”), but the long term pattern of organ damage after infection is still unclear.

Study confirms link of processed meat to cardiovascular disease, early death

After following the participants for almost a decade, the researchers found consumption of 150 grams or more of processed meat a week was associated with a 46 per cent higher risk of cardiovascular disease and a 51 per cent higher risk of death than those who ate no processed meat.
However, the researchers also found moderate levels of consumption of non-processed meats had a neutral effect on health.
