Auto majors report decline in May sales
The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Saturday reported a 22 per cent decline in sales at 1,34,641 units in May.The company had sold 1,72,512 units in May 2018, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.Domestic sales declined by 23.1 per cent to 1,25,552 units as against 1,63,200 units in the year ago month, it added.

Speaking exclusively to ANI, M Mohapatra, Director General, IMD’s meteorology, said: “Severe heatwave condition is persisting in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, southern Uttar Pradesh, northern Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Jharkhand.”

Cabinet launches pension covers for farmers and retail traders
The new UnionCabinet under PM Modi approved the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana under which small and marginal farmers will get a minimum fixed pension of Rs 3,000 per month on attaining the age of 60 years. Cabinet in its meeting also approved a new scheme that assures minimum monthly pension of Rs 3,000 to all shopkeepers, retail traders and self-employed persons after attaining the age of 60 years
