Amazon has a 49 percent stake in FCPL, which in turn owns a 9.82 percent stake in FRL. Amazon’s contention is that it has invested Rs.1431 crore in FCPL on the clear understanding that FRL would be the sole vehicle for its retail business and its retail assets would not be alienated without consent and never to a ‘Restricted Person’. FRL, on the other hand, has objected to the enforcement of the EA award saying that it is not an order under Section 17(1) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and hence not enforceable in India.

Indian carmakers renew bid to delay tougher fuel efficiency rules -sources

India introduced a first phase of its CAFE measures in April 2017, giving carmakers until the end of March next year to cut carbon emissions from new cars to 130 grams per km.

In a second phase starting from April 1, 2022, India has proposed a further cut to 113 grams per km.

The stricter CAFE rules also aim to pull Indian regulations for carmakers in line with global standards.

Vessels are being targeted further away from the shore – over 200 nautical miles (nm) in some cases.
