U.S. permits Startup Nuro to deploy up to 5,000 driverless delivery vehicles

The rollout of the R2 vehicle will take place in Houston, with plans for it to deliver items like pizza and groceries. It is about half the width of a regular car, has no steering wheel or seating positions and boasts gull-wing cargo doors reminiscent of the time-traveling car in the “Back to the Future” films.Nuro, a privately held robotics company based in Mountain View, California, said it will begin public road testing to prepare deliveries in Houston in the coming weeks.

IRDAI to expand its regulatory Sandbox project soon:Khuntia

 “ We in Irdai have already allowed a regulatory sandbox regime because we do not know whether the (existing) regulations will be adequate for the new processes that these technologies will need.This is an experiment we we’ll allow for six months and up to one year.If we find that these are old processes which will help transactions and make life easier for the insurer as well as the insured without compromising on the policy holders protection, we will think of tweaking the regulations to make it happen.”

Few states debar 4 insurers from PMFBY due to complaints: Govt

The Centre on Tuesday told Parliament that some state governments like Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat have debarred four insurance firms — SBI General Insurance, Tata AIG, Shriram General Insurance and UIIC — from participating in tender of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) for one or more seasons. Some state governments have also slapped interest penalty on the Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC Ltd),Cholamandalam-MS General Insurance Company, ICICI-Lombard General Insurance Company, New India Assurance Company and SBI General Insurance Company, it said in the Lok Sabha.
