India invites UK companies to invest in insurance sector

As a simple rule of thumb, monthly income is recommended to be spilt using 50/30/20 rule. Allocate the first 50% of one’s take-home income pay on necessities such as housing, food, and transport. The remaining half should be split up between 20% for long-term savings and investments and with 30% for “wants” like hobbies and travel. However, research shows that Singaporeans are 13% below the target for their retirement planning.

India expects 3-4 mln Pfizer, Moderna vaccine doses through COVAX by August- sources

Experts have said India needs to administer 10 million doses a day to achieve its aim of immunising all adults by December. It administered about 4 million doses a day in the week to July 2. Apart from Moderna and Pfizer, India has also been courting Johnson & Johnson for vaccine supplies. J&J has already signed a manufacturing agreement with India’s Biological E. Ltd though production has yet to start.

E-commerce boom to double India warehouse deals, says Knight Frank

The e-commerce segment will take up 165% more space in Indian warehouses over the next five years while third party logistics and other sector companies are expected to take up 56% and 43%, respectively, Knight Frank forecasts.

Warehousing transactions in the top eight Indian cities fell 23% to 31.7 million square feet in the 12 months ended March from a year earlier. Rent growth was also challenged as occupiers negotiated hard amid a surge in coronavirus infections and lockdowns.

SC directs Centre to submit expert committee report on aircraft fumigation

The apex court, which was hearing pleas against the National Green Tribunal’s ban on spraying of disinfectants and pesticides in aircraft, had earlier said that it was not in favour of a blanket restriction and may allow it on some routes where mosquito problem was prevalent after the committee submits its report.

The ministry of health and family welfare had told the top court that spraying of disinfectants was not harmful and it was in accordance with guidelines of World Health Organisation.
