DGCA may impose spot fines at airports for violation of Covid guidelines
In a circular on Tuesday, the regulator said, “During the surveillance of some airports, it has come to notice that compliance (of COVID-19 protocols) is not satisfactory.”
“All airport operators, therefore, are requested to ensure that the instructions on COVID-19 protocol from the standpoint of wearing face mask properly, covering nose and mouth, as well as maintaining social distance norms within the airport premises are followed scrupulously,” it said.

Over 40 mn old vehicles on Indian roads, Karnataka tops list at 700,000
More than four crore vehicles have been found to be older than 15 years, including over two crore which are more than 20 years old, as per the data.
The digitised vehicle records are as per the centralised Vahan database that excludes “Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Lakshadweep”, the ministry said.
Uttar Pradesh occupies the second spot with 56.54 lakh vehicles, of which 24.55 lakh are older than 20 years.
