IT Ministry directs WhatsApp to withdraw new privacy policy: Govt sources

The IT Ministry believes that the changes to WhatsApp privacy policy and the manner of introducing the said changes undermines the sacrosanct values of informational privacy, data security and user choice and harms the rights and interests of Indian citizens, government sources said.

The government has given seven days to WhatsApp to respond to the notice and if no satisfactory response is received, necessary steps in consonance with law will be taken, sources informed.

Vaccination should be taken 3 months after recovery from COVID-19: Health ministry

COVID-19 vaccination should be deferred by three months after recovery in individuals having lab test proven SARS-CoV-2 individuals having lab test proven SARS-2 COVID-19 illness, according to the statement. Also, vaccination in COVID-19 patients who have been given anti-SARS-2 monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma to be deferred by three months from the date of discharge from the hospital.

IMD reports new cyclone formation, Yaas, at Bay of Bengal

“Low pressure of the new cyclonic storm is expected to start forming in the Bay of Bengal by May 22. May 23 should mark depression stage, and the final cyclonic storm is expected to hit by May 24-25,” he told ANI.

The cyclone Yaas will hit the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal on May 26. Meanwhile, both the states will experience heavy rainfall from May 22 to 26.
