Fresh Covid-19 cases in India registered a week-on-week rise for the first time in 12 weeks since the peak of the second wave in early May, indicating an early sign of another pandemic spike in the country, said experts.

Currently, the surge is mainly restricted to Kerala and, to a much lesser degree, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.Cumulatively, 47,22,23,639 vaccine doses have been administered through 55,99,690 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today. 17,06,598 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Relying on the National Mental Health Survey of India 2015-16, Devina Singh, who has filed a PIL IN Delhi High Court, has contended that children and adolescents are vulnerable to mental disorders and the healthcare system does not prioritize mental health.

Singh has claimed that stress, fear, depression, insomnia, disconnectedness, and lack of self-confidence, are the issues widely prevalent among students but left unattended.

As per the sources, Johnson and Johnson is not going to participate in the trials for the single-dose vaccine in India. They are also having discussions over indemnity with the government.In June, a spokesperson of the company told ANI that as per the recent announcement by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), there is no longer a requirement to conduct bridging clinical studies of COVID-19 vaccines in India.
