U.S. developing plan to require foreign visitors to be vaccinated -official

The White House is not ready to immediately lift travel restrictions because of the rising COVID-19 case load, the official said.

The Biden administration has interagency working groups working “in order to have a new system ready for when we can reopen travel,” the official said, adding it includes “a phased approach that over time will mean, with limited exceptions, that foreign nationals traveling to the United States (from all countries) need to be fully vaccinated.”

EDMC issues toll-free number for e-waste disposal

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has hired an agency for collection and transportation of electronic waste and soon a mobile app will also be launched to facilitate people, the area’s Mayor Shyam Sunder Aggarwal said on Monday.

The agency will ensure that the waste is collected from home or any other place as per people’s convenience and an amount for e-waste items, as agreed between the seller and agency, is paid on the spot, he said.

Study finds air pollution associated with higher risk of dementia

“We found that an increase of 1 microgram per cubic meter of exposure corresponded to a 16 per cent greater hazard of all-cause dementia. There was a similar association for Alzheimer’s-type dementia,” said lead author Rachel Shaffer, who conducted the research as a doctoral student in the UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences.

Increased risk of heart attack, stroke in first two weeks following Covid: Lancet study

“The results indicate that acute cardiovascular complications represent an important clinical manifestation of COVID-19,” said Ioannis Katsoularis from Umea University, a co-author of the study.

“Our results also show how important it is to vaccinate against COVID-19, in particular the elderly who are at increased risk of acute cardiovascular events,” Katsoularis said.
